Getting started
dub hub is a community for identifying tracks from DJ sets, festivals and mixes. Upload a clip, help identify tracks, earn rewards, and, if they're still unreleased, get notified when they finally drop.
Yes. dub hub is completely free for listeners, and all artist features are currently free during beta. Optional paid tools for artists may be introduced in the future, but the core experience will always remain free for listeners.
Think electronic music. Anything from an unreleased dub or double drop to an old white label, a VIP or a free download. Whether it's house, drum & bass, techno, jungle or even donk, if you've heard it somewhere and can't find it anywhere else, this is the place to start.
Not at all. Whether you're helping identify tracks or searching for one yourself, everyone starts somewhere. The more listeners and artists that join the community, the better it gets for everyone.
Every month we'll reward some of the community's best identifiers, as well as artists who contribute to dub hub. Rewards will vary over time, but they'll include things like event tickets, unreleased dubs, merch and production equipment.
Yes — eventually! The beta is currently available on iPhone through Apple's TestFlight. Android is on the roadmap and we'll share updates as soon as we have them.
You can upload clips, help identify tracks, discover music, interact with artists and build your reputation through correct identifications. If a track is still unreleased, dub hub can also help you stay connected until it finally drops.
No. You can upload a clip even if you have no idea what the track is, browse music other people are searching for, or help when you recognise something. Everyone contributes in a different way.
Identifying tracks
You can upload short clips with audio from DJ sets, festivals, clubs, mixes and other places where you hear music. Screen recordings may also be suitable where you have the right to share the content.
When a clip is uploaded, listeners can suggest tracks in the comments. Artists can confirm their own music, and moderators can review community identifications where needed.
It depends on the track and how many people recognise it. Some are identified quickly. Unreleased dubs, edits, double drops and older tracks can take longer.
Leave the post up and give the community time. You can add useful details such as the DJ, event, location or date, and tag a relevant artist if they are already on dub hub.
The community can help identify individual tracks, edits, VIPs and combinations that automated recognition tools may struggle with. Some double drops may require identifying both tracks separately.
Not exactly. dub hub is community-driven. It is designed for clips where crowd noise, live mixing, unreleased music, edits or multiple tracks can make traditional recognition difficult.
Releases and notifications
When release information is added to a track you are connected to, dub hub can notify you and link you to the release. You can also turn on Release Alerts for verified artists whose future music you want to hear.
Release Alerts let listeners choose verified artists whose future releases they want to hear about. They are designed around music, not follower counts or a conventional social-media following system.
Artists can add links to streaming services, downloads, free downloads, dub packs and other release destinations. The music itself remains on the relevant artist or music platform.
Once it is identified, the artist or community can connect it to the relevant release and available listening or download links where possible.
No. Some tracks remain unreleased, are private dubs, old white labels, edits or tracks that are no longer commercially available. dub hub can still help identify them even when no official release exists.
Artists
dub hub helps artists find clips where their music is already being played and discussed. They can confirm their tracks, correct mistaken identifications, connect clips to releases and see how their music is moving through the community.
Verified artists can confirm their own tracks, deny incorrect identifications, interact with listeners, attach clips to releases, add release links and manage their artist profile.
A verified artist profile confirms that the account represents the real artist. Verified artists receive a badge and access to artist-specific identification and release tools.
Artist verification is reviewed manually. This helps ensure that confirmations, denials and releases come from the correct artist.
No. Verification is about credibility and is not intended to be paywalled.
Optional paid tools may be introduced in the future for advanced release management and communication. dub hub will not sell feed ranking, visibility boosts or pay-to-win promotion.
Yes. Current artist tools are free during beta while we test the product and learn from artists using it.
Yes. We are interested in hearing from labels, promoters, festivals, brands, collectives and other people working across electronic music.
Rewards and reputation
Listeners can build reputation by making useful contributions, including correct track identifications. Reputation helps recognise trusted members of the community.
Rewards recognise meaningful contributions from listeners and artists. The exact rewards and eligibility may change over time.
Rewards may include event tickets, unreleased music, merchandise and production equipment. Availability will vary, and not every reward will be offered every month.
Yes. Artist rewards may differ from listener rewards and can recognise artists who contribute meaningfully to the community.
Accounts, moderation and copyright
Artists can confirm their own music. Community identifications may also be reviewed by moderators where additional confirmation is needed.
Artists can deny incorrect identifications, and moderators can review disputed or reported posts.
Yes. Use the reporting tools inside the app. Moderators can review posts, accounts, comments and incorrect genre information.
Only upload content you have the right to share. dub hub is intended for short track-identification clips, not full-length music hosting or streaming.
Moderators can review reports, correct information, remove content and take action against accounts that break the Terms of Use or community standards.
