Terms of Use

dub hub (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a music identification and release-discovery platform. It is operated by dub hub Music Limited in the United Kingdom.

These Terms of Use apply to the dub hub app and this website. By creating an account or using dub hub, you agree to these Terms. The date at the top of this page is the date this version took effect.

dub hub is for short clips from DJ sets, events and mixes, so people can identify tracks and follow them through to release. It is not a music streaming or full-track hosting service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use dub hub. If the law that applies to you sets a higher minimum age, you must meet that age as well. We do not allow under-13 registration, and we do not offer a parental-consent account.

You must give accurate registration information, including your date of birth where we ask for it. We use that date to apply the age rule when you register. We do not continuously re-check age with an automated process after that.

If we reasonably believe you do not meet these requirements, we may restrict or remove the account.

You are responsible for your own account. Give accurate information, and keep your login details secure. Tell us at users@dubhub.uk if you think someone else has accessed your account without permission.

Your username and profile must follow these Terms. You must not impersonate another person, artist, label or organisation.

Artist verification is a separate process from creating an account. We may ask for further evidence, such as contact from an official artist account together with your dub hub username. Verification is our reasonable check that an account is associated with an artist. It is not a guarantee that every identity is correct in every case.

“User Content” means material you submit to dub hub. That can include clips and videos, thumbnails, captions, comments and replies, track identification suggestions, metadata, artwork, profile images and banners, release information, links, collaboration details, and reports or other messages you send us.

You keep ownership of User Content that you own. Uploading a clip does not transfer copyright in that clip, or in any music in it, to dub hub.

You give dub hub a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, process, transcode, display and distribute your User Content, and to use it in other technical ways, only as reasonably necessary to operate the service. That includes showing it to users, making thumbnails and previews, sharing and deep links, moderating it, and running releases and related features.

This licence is not a right to use your content in advertising or marketing. It ends when that content is deleted from the service, except where we reasonably need to keep copies for backups, legal reasons, safety or moderation. The Privacy Policy explains that limited retention.

You must have the rights or permissions needed for anything you submit. You are responsible for your User Content.

Music, recordings, artwork, names and other material on dub hub may belong to someone else. You must only upload content you have a legal right or permission to submit. You must not use dub hub to deliberately infringe copyright, trade marks, privacy, publicity or other rights.

A track appearing in dub hub does not mean dub hub owns that music, recording or artwork.

If you believe content on dub hub infringes your rights, contact us at users@dubhub.uk. We will review the report and take appropriate action. That can include removing or restricting the material, and suspending or removing accounts for repeated or serious infringement.

Community identifications are suggestions. They can be wrong. Confirmation by a verified artist, or action by a moderator, can increase confidence. It does not legally guarantee who owns a track, who wrote it, or whether or when it will be released.

A verified artist may confirm or deny an identification of their own music. That ability is part of verification. It is not something you buy.

A verified artist with Artist Tools may identify a track without their name being shown publicly at that time. dub hub still keeps a record of which artist made that identification, so we can protect the integrity of identifications, moderate the service and deal with disputes. You must not use private identification in a misleading or abusive way.

We may correct, remove, review or reverse an identification where that is appropriate.

Artist verification is free. It is separate from Artist Tools. Paying for Artist Tools does not make an account verified, and it does not increase how credible a verification is.

Verification means we have associated the account with an artist to the extent we can reasonably establish. It is not a promise that our checks are infallible. We may review, withhold or remove verification if the information is false, misleading, compromised or no longer reliable.

Artist Tools is an optional paid subscription for eligible verified artist accounts. It is bought through Apple In-App Purchase. Apple processes the payment and charges your Apple account. RevenueCat helps us tell whether your dub hub artist account is entitled to Artist Tools, and helps us follow the subscription lifecycle.

Artist Tools does not buy verification, credibility, a higher ranking, more reach, more discovery, preferential moderation, a feed boost, or a guaranteed audience or commercial result.

In the current app, Artist Tools includes extra tools for managing releases. Those currently include higher allowances for releases, attached posts and release links; pre-save, pre-add and pre-order links; an aggregate count of listeners who have turned on Release Alerts, and the ability to send alerts to them; private track identification; a custom notification emoji on eligible artist notifications; and alternate app icons on your device. The tools available are those provided in the app. We do not promise features that are not available yet.

Price, renewal and cancellation

The price and billing period are shown before you buy. Price and tax can vary by country and App Store storefront. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it under Apple’s subscription settings and rules. You manage and cancel Artist Tools in your Apple account. Apple’s terms govern when a cancellation takes effect.

Deleting your dub hub account does not cancel the Apple subscription. If you want to stop renewal, cancel it with Apple as well.

Refunds and access

Refunds for App Store purchases are generally handled by Apple. This does not take away consumer rights you have under the law that applies to you. dub hub does not promise to refund an App Store payment that Apple controls.

If you cancel, paid access normally continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, while Apple or RevenueCat still report that entitlement as active. A billing grace period may also keep access available where Apple or RevenueCat report one. A refund or revocation may remove paid-tool access. If we cannot confirm a current entitlement, paid tools may be unavailable until we can.

When entitlement ends, we do not automatically delete your existing releases or other content. Some paid functionality can stop being available. That can include pausing future releases that depend on Artist Tools. Nothing in this section removes statutory rights you have in relation to a subscription.

You can turn on a Release Alert for a verified artist. That records your interest in their future releases. You can turn it off again.

Turning an alert on does not guarantee that a notification will reach you. Delivery depends on the rules in the current product, which include whether that artist can send alerts, your device settings, Apple’s notification service, your connection, and other technical limits.

If you add a release, you are responsible for the accuracy of the information you submit. That includes titles, dates, artwork, collaborators and links. You must supply that information lawfully and accurately.

Links from a release go to third-party services. Those services have their own terms. dub hub does not control their availability, prices or content.

Only name someone as a collaborator where that relationship is genuine. An invitation or acceptance in dub hub is a product record for that release. It does not, by itself, decide copyright ownership, royalty splits, authorship or any other legal right between artists, labels, producers or other rights holders. Those matters belong in agreements outside dub hub.

dub hub may show reputation points, confirmed identification counts, leaderboard positions and badges, including a 100 Club badge for a monthly Top 100 finish.

Scores and rankings can change when information is corrected, moderated or recalculated. You must not manipulate them, create fake activity, or try to game a leaderboard, badge or reward. We may adjust or remove activity that is fraudulent or wrong.

Reputation and badges are features of the platform. They are not a legal certificate, a professional qualification or an endorsement by dub hub.

The app may show eligibility, badges, leaderboard positions or other information connected with a promotion. A ranking or badge does not by itself mean you will receive a prize. Unless a specific promotion says otherwise, a ranking or badge has no cash value and does not entitle you to a prize.

A prize draw, competition or other promotion may have its own eligibility rules and terms. Those terms apply to that promotion and take precedence for it. We may carry out checks that the law allows, including checks against fraud. Manipulated or abusive activity can lead to disqualification.

The Release Countdown widget is an optional convenience. We do not guarantee that it will always be available, that it will refresh immediately, or that its countdown will match the app to the second at every moment. Apple controls some widget refresh behaviour.

The app is the place to check current release information.

You must not:

• Harass, threaten or abuse anyone
• Post hateful or discriminatory content
• Impersonate another person, artist or organisation
• Knowingly make a false artist claim, or knowingly manipulate an identification
• Upload unlawful content, or content that infringes someone else’s rights
• Spam, or use bots or automation to create fake engagement
• Manipulate reputation, leaderboards or rewards
• Evade moderation, a ban or another account restriction
• Interfere with the security or operation of the service
• Scrape dub hub or access it in a way we have not allowed
• Introduce malicious code
• Misuse the report tools, or commit fraud

We may investigate reports and moderate dub hub. That can include removing content, correcting metadata or identifications, restricting features, suspending an account, or ending an account. We may also keep limited records where we need them for moderation, safety, fraud prevention, legal claims or compliance. The Privacy Policy explains that retention.

Moderation involves judgement. It is not guaranteed to be immediate. Content staying visible does not mean dub hub endorses it.

If you want to dispute a moderation decision, or you need support, contact users@dubhub.uk.

You can delete your account in the app from Settings, then Manage account, then Delete account, and confirm with your password, when that option is available. If it is not available, email users@dubhub.uk.

Deleting your dub hub account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Manage or cancel that subscription with Apple.

What happens to your content and personal information is explained in the Privacy Policy at https://www.dubhub.uk/privacy, and by the law that applies. Deletion can leave the limited records described there.

We may update, change or stop features, including features that are in beta. Maintenance and outages can happen. We do not guarantee that every feature will always be available.

If you have paid for Artist Tools, this section does not remove statutory rights you have in that subscription.

dub hub links to services we do not control, including Apple and music platforms linked from releases. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. A link does not mean we endorse that service.

The dub hub software, design, branding, logos, interface, graphics and original content belong to dub hub or its licensors. You may not copy or reuse them except where the law or these Terms allow it.

This section does not give dub hub ownership of your User Content, or of third-party music or artwork.

We provide dub hub with reasonable care. It may still be interrupted or contain errors. Identifications, release details and other community contributions can be inaccurate. Links and external services are outside our control. Notifications may not arrive. Information in dub hub is not legal, professional or commercial advice.

Nothing in this section removes statutory rights you have as a consumer.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that the law does not allow us to limit or exclude. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for statutory consumer rights.

Subject to that, we are not liable for User Content, for identifications or release information that turn out to be wrong, for third-party services, or for loss caused by events outside our reasonable control. We are also not liable for a failure of a notification to arrive, or for a widget not refreshing immediately.

You can stop using dub hub at any time, and you can delete your account as described in section 16.

We may suspend or end an account for a serious or repeated breach of these Terms, for fraud or abuse, where the law requires it, or to protect the platform and its users. A restriction may be temporary or permanent.

Ending an account does not by itself cancel billing through Apple. Cancel an Artist Tools subscription with Apple if you want renewal to stop.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom that apply to your use of dub hub. If you are a consumer, you keep the mandatory protections of the law of the part of the United Kingdom where you live.

You may bring a claim in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live, where the law allows that. Nothing in these Terms stops you relying on a mandatory consumer right.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal information. It is at https://www.dubhub.uk/privacy.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version, and the date it took effect, will be posted on this page. Where a change is material, we may also tell you in another appropriate way.

If the law requires notice or consent before a change applies to you, we will follow that law. Continued use of dub hub after an update takes effect is subject to that law. It is not a waiver of rights the law says you keep.
